FAQS
How do I know what remote will work with my car?
Enter the make, model, and year of your vehicle into our Key ID tool (demo.allautofobs.com). Contact us with any questions at (703) 550-0770.
I entered the make, model, and year but see multiple, similar remotes to mine. Which remote should I pick?
Compare your original remote to the pictures and select the one that matches. Check button configurations. If a Universal Car Key is available for your vehicle, this will be indicated once you enter your vehicle’s make, model, and year and available for you to select.
You say you’re cheaper than my car dealership for replacement keys, remotes, and programming. Will you price match?
Absolutely. AllAutoFobs.com will price match car dealership prices for replacement keys, remotes, and programming.
What if I don’t have an original remote and am unsure of what it looks like?
Give us a call at (703) 550-0770 or message us here. We’d be happy to assist you.
I don’t see my model or year listed. What should I do?
Call us at (703) 550-0770. Some keys are very similar making it difficult to distinguish between them online. One of our professionals can help clarify which remote to purchase.
Why do I need to have my remote/key programmed by a professional? Can I do it myself?
Car manufacturers intentionally complicate the car key/remote duplication process as a theft prevention measure. “Smart keys”, which require a combination of advanced technology and automotive locksmithing expertise to program correctly, are the outcome. Such precision entails that even the smallest of programming mistakes can void all working sets of keys to the vehicle or worse, completely wipe the on-board computer. An immobilized car means the hassle of a tow to the dealership, as well as wasted time and money.
Most newer vehicle models require remotes and keys to be programmed before they will function, but not all remotes/keys require special programming. Some can be programmed by the customer, by following instructions provided by our technicians at pick-up. Questions about your particular vehicle? Give us a call at (703) 550-0770.
Is the key cutting service included with the programming fee?
No, the programming fee does not include key cutting. Key cutting prices range from $4.00-$50.00.
How long will it take to program my new key or remote?
The average time to program a new key or remote is between 5-15 minutes, however every vehicle calls for a different procedure. Please plan to allow our technicians up to 30 minutes for programming; 45 minutes during peak hours (between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.). We strive to serve our customers as quickly as possible, without sacrificing the quality that AllAutoFobs.com has provided for over 50 years. Call our technicians ahead of time at (703) 550-0770 for a more accurate estimation of the length of your visit.
